Sunway GIZA Mall - TAO Authentic Asian Cuisine Buffet

Just have my buffet dinner at TAO Authentic Asian Cuisine at Sunway GIZA Mall, Kota Damansara. TAO is an established restaurant in Penang offering japanese style buffet in more affordable price. And it now become one of the popular japanese buffet in Klang Valley.

Their foods can consider good food quality base on buffet standard. Unlike other place, TAO offer ala-carte buffet. They have quite big variety of food to choose from their menu. This is good for those who like their food piping hot from the wok or lazy to walk around :-p. Only certain dish like sashime, sushi, oyster, bbq, dessert and etc are display on the buffet counter.

Ok, let see what I have today. This is what I get from the buffet counter.

Puchong - Zok Noodle House

Zok Noodle House serve both local and Hong Kong style wonton noodles. Nothing very special but still delicious. A large variety of noodles can get here. I have the Crispy Duck Dried Noodle ADD ON Char Siew. The duck have a crispy skin and soft and juicy meat white the char siew (bbq pork) is not fat. Really nice when bite on it. The noodle don't have the alkaline taste and springy. It is well-cooked with the flavourful black sauce.

SS2 - Pontian Wanton Mee

Pontian Wanton Mee located at SS2 is a famous restaurant from Johor. They serve quite big variety of noodles and today I try their special Tomato Sauce Wanton Mee. Sound special? Maybe this is something new to Klang Valley folk haha. But actually not really bad, just a little too sweet. So for those who are not a fan for ketchup, better don't try.

SS2 - Chicken Rice @ Restoran Lim Mee Yoke

OOps its quite sometime I didn't update my blog..hmm busy job + hot weather + enjoying all 8 Harry Potter's movies + chasing Korean series make me no time to update. >..< 

Chicken Rice is one of the meal I can eat everyday or one whole day :-p. Lately I found there is a great Chicken Rice at SS2. This chicken rice stall just operate inside Restoran Lim Mee Yoke that is famous with their Prawn Noodles. This is not a famous chicken rice as you cannot see long Q or anyone blog about it but I really feel it is DELICIOUS.

SS2 - Geylang Lor 9

Wowowo, Its so delicious!!!

Geylang Lor 9, a famous Farm Frog Porridge (田鸡粥) from Geylang, Singapore located at SS2. The signature dish here of course is their FAT and Fresh farm frog. They have 3 type of cooking; Spring Onions (Keung Chung), Dry Chili (Kong Poh) or cooked with the porridge. 

SSTwo Mall - Porridge Time

When watching Hong Kong TVB Drama, sure will always hear about they want to eat Teng Zai Chuk (艇子粥 ) or the direct translate, Small Boat Porridge. So one day I decided to try it out at Porridge Time, SSTwo Mall. When I google about this Hongkie dish, its said that this is a traditional Cantonese dish and is believed that fishermen used to sell this porridge in small dedicated boats. 

Amcorp Mall - Rak Thai

Rak Thai serves delicious and authenthic Thai food at affordable prices. It is located on the lower ground floor of Amcorp Mall. The restaurant shows Thai concept interior and quite pack during lunch hour. This is the first time I didn't eat tomyum when patrolling a Thai Restaurant.

I order the Mini Wok Bi Hun. The noodles serve in a mini stainless steel wok. The clear soup is flavourful and rich in filling. This  piping hot and full filling dish really need time to finish up.

Kepong - Lo Mai Kai @ Pasar Pagi Kepong Baru

Lo Mai Kai (Sticky Glutinous Rice) are easily found at any Chinese dimsum restaurant or a small dimsum kiosk at any kopitiam or road side newspaper stall in town but not all is delicious.

Aman Suria - 6 to 10 Grill & Nasi Lemak

Work is so stress and the best way to distress is eating! So today I choose 6 to 10 to keep me alive!!! Here is popular with their Nasi Lemak. I always wanted to try this but the info I get is all outdated. The address still at Happy Mansion until I thought it already closed down because cannot found it. Until one day a friend told me there are a Nasi Lemak Restaurant at Aman Suria name 6 to 10 and YEAH, finally I found it ^..^

Jaya One - Nandos

I visited Nando's Jaya One with Grace for lunch. This is a place for chicken dishes and here are also famous with their speciality hot sauce "PERI-PERI'. Peri-peri is an African bird's-eye chili that is use to marinade chicken and it comes in a variety of spices, from mild to the super hot!

Cari-cari Makan Seremban - Muar Half Day Trip Part 4 (Final)

Before we left Muar, we have some small walk at the Muar famous Glutton Street (贪吃街). This is the Yellow and Pink area and is along Jalan Ali and Jalan Haji Abu. You can find a lot of hawker stall across the road. The food is available for takeaway or order and eat inside the restaurant nearby. 

It is really terrific to walk under the sunny sun. So we must hide inside some restaurant to avoid get melt. At the same time we try their pork satay and otak-otak.

After the burning HOT lunch, we decided to have a cup of iced drink at Cafe 434. I do read some of the review about this Kopitiam, but inside my mind I always think that this is a classic old time kopitiam in a small town. But after reach that place, I am so surprise that it is a modern and cozy trendy coffee house. Since we still full, we only order the drinks. I have the signature 100% Elephant Bean Coffee Ice. Hmm its taste too light.

After the breakfast at Seremban, we proceed to Muar and it take around 1 hour to reach there. Muar town is a historical town and is believe to be even older than Melaka. The town is located in the state of Johor. You still can see a lot of pre-war shop houses and association building in the town center. The well maintain building are mostly paint in blue, yellow and pink colour. Earlier the colour coding are using to enables the visitors to identify the streets. Anywhere from what I see, not all really maintain the colour coding. Such a wasted if they start to abandon this unique concept.

It is quite sometimes Pohkemon didn't go for any Makan-makan trip. So, in this Honourable Public Holiday, I decided to go for some food hunting at Muar with Pohkemon’s Kaki Makan, Hilary. If you want go for some 1 day food hunting trip, and get bored with the crowded at Melaka, maybe this Muar can be your good choice. During my first visit to Onepot-Dimsum-Paper Grill-Steamboat at SS2, we have their set menu. This time I go to the Kepong branch and try their buffet. As mentioned before at SS2 - Onepot-Dimsum-Paper Grill-Steamboat , the buffet only available for steamboat. But now we also can enjoy the buffet for their signature papergrill. Papergrill is cook/grill on a piece of paper without the use of oil. Its will cook under 200 degree.

Kepong - Nasi Lemak Abang Black

Nowadays it is hard to find simple nasi lemak bunkus (packet) that wrapped with newspaper, banana leaf and brown paper. This is what I want to eat when I need something, simple, fast and cheap besides the instant noodle. Nasi Lemak Abang Black is a roadside stall which is operate by a few Malay girl. You can find their stall at the junction at Taman Usahawan, Kepong, after Petronas Petrol Station nearby HSBC...slightly opposite QQ BBQ Steamboat. Or at the Rukun Tetangga at Kepong Baru. The advantage to buy from this stall is you can "Drive-Thru", just stop your car infront their stall, and they will come to serve you HAHA.

SS2 - Murni Discovery

Murni Discovery is one of the most popular and busy restaurant around this area. This mamak serve not only the ordinarily Mamak Stall's dish but also serve other chinese, malay and western food. Besides that they also like to give their dish funny funny name hehe.

SS1 - Super Kitchen Chilly Pan Mee

I seldom eat pan mee outside. I prefer eat homemade pan mee that is hand tear till very very thick ^..^. Anywhere today I decided to give this famous Batu Road Pan Mee a try. After 2 try, I still don't like it. I prefer traditional type broth. So for this time to be fair, I wont comment too much on the taste. Just some basic introduce about this outlet that are same row with the Original Kayu Mamak. Oyah, I do ask those kaki pan mee and they claim that this is one of the best Chili Pan Mee in town. This also can be prove by the customer inside the restaurant.

Kota Damansara - Aunty Lan Homemade Noodles

I used to work at Kota Damansara for more than 1 years, but never notice this restaurant. Until a friend ask me to try their homemade noodle, so we are here for our lunch. When I reach it, then only I notice I ate here once before, but not so remember what I ate cause that time just having some quick lunch. Ok, back to main story, Aunty Lan just have some makeover, the newly decorate shop is more cozy and to my liking FREE WIFI available.

Kota Damansara - Ochado

This is the first time I visiting Ochado, one of the pioneer Milk Tea Brand in Malaysia. Unfortunately not sure did I go for a wrong flavour or whatsoever reason, the drink is absolutely disappointed. Bland and tasteless event I have the 75% sweetness and drink it immediately. The pearl is small in size and lack of bouncing effect and the texture is not as smooth as what I have at Chatime.

Sri Bintang Kepong - Asam Laksa @ Pasar Malam

Pasar Malam (Night Street Market) at Sri Bintang, Kepong is opened every Saturday evening and this is just a small size Pasar Malam., not must stall compare to other Pasar Malam around Kepong area. One of the pioneer stall here is this asam laksa stall which is operate in front the main street, next to the Lok Lok Van. You can see many people queuing to purchase it from a small stall that operate by one uncle with his 2 daughters (I think). If you walk pass the stall, you can smell the great aroma of the asam laksa.

SS17, PJ - Ipoh Chang Jiang White Coffee

This place have start their business in this area for quite some times but I never notice about it until my colleague bring me here for lunch. She said the Ipoh Hor Fun serve here really nice. Located at the lower ground of the 4-storey flat at SS17, facing main road opposite Jaya One. At first I doubt about the cleanliness of the shop judge from the environment but look like I worry too much. The small restaurant is, clean, bright and cozy.

Chang Jiang can become very pack during lunch hour. So you may need to be patience to wait for your food deliverd to you. But don't worry, they have a very systematic serving skill, not much mistake will occur. A number tag will give to you once you make your order on the food counter that place on the main entrance. The taukeh soh will take your order politely.

Damansara Utama - 有骨气 Bone & Pot

I always listen to positive and good comment about this place, so finally I am here to try it out. I choose the Damansara Utama branches since this is the nearest to me. The restaurant is quite pack and we need to wait a while to get our seat. Once we settle down, we immediately check on the menu see what we can eat. Here only serve basic ala-carte dish and the broths are charged separately. The price for all the dish is not an affordable type..quite pricey >..<".

TTDI - Surisit The Thai Kopitiam

I found out the name of this restaurant really interesting. Surisit The Thai Kopitiam, I really wondering what and how is a Thailand Kopitiam, We knew about local, Singapore, Hong Kong or even Vietnam Kopitiam, but what is Thai Kopitiam? Once I sit down I check on their menu to see any special. HAIZ...is just another ordinarily Thai Food Restaurant. >..<

SS2 - Wallop Pork Burger

Wallop Pork Burger is a fast food concept restaurant currently serves only pork burger. Although this is a fast food restaurant but the service is slow. I went there for lunch. Its look like less than 10 customer but I need to wait for more than 10 minutes. Since they only serve 1 type of pork burger I really wondering why take so long to pepared it.

SS2 - Lee Yuan Tea House (Dim Sum)

I just try the Steamed Spare Ribs in Black Bean Sauce Rice in Lee Yuan Tea House located at SS2, next to King's Confectionery. Lee Yuan serve dimsum, double-boil soup and the newly added steam rice. Lee Yuan Tea House is under the same company with Onepot-Dimsum-Paper Grill-Steamboat that is just operate on the 2nd floor. 

Steamed Spare Ribs in Black Bean Sauce Rice is really delicious. The meat was tender, juicy and the sauce is truly rich and bold. The rice also well-cook and fluffy, overall it is so tasty!

Kepong – Happy City Steamboat

It’s not a good idea to have a flaming steamboat in the middle of 30°C!!! We end up soaking in sweat @.@. It’s quite sometimes I didn’t patronize this Happy City. The reason is the place is getting dirtier and the broth is too oily. But this round visit, everything back to square. Cleaner and fresher. 

Kepong – Restaurant Leong Yun

OOPS, Pohkemon make a BIG MISTAKE...The Banner - “NO GOOD NO CHARGE” is not belong to Leong Yun but the restaurant next to it...from the main road, its do look like same stall..hihi. Thanks tanalan2 for correct me >..<


“NO GOOD NO CHARGE” This small banner hanging on their Food Stall do attract me. Almost everyday I must passby this stall to go to work till I saw this, then only I decided to give it a try!! Located at the industrial area of Taman Bukit Maluri Kepong, this roadside food stall is just slightly opposite Kedai Serbaneka FnC (中国风). This roadside suddenly become a new eating place…major in all type of fish dishes. 

Restoran Leong Yun is famous with their special recipe steam fish. But too bad, the dish need to pre-order so we unable to try it. We end-up order one Chilli Sauce Steam Talapia, Claypot Kang Kung and Siong Tong LaLa. Amongst all the claypot kang kung is the best. It was stir fried and toasty hot in claypot with garlic cloves and shallots. The result is really tempting and delicious.

Honestly I am not a fan for BBQ Pork aka Char Siu. I am here to try the Hakka Mee but the Char Siu is too tempting to ignore :-p. So why not order a small one to try!! Located at the seclude area of SS2, Toast and Roast have the ability to create the crowds.

SSTwo Mall - Killiney Kopitiam (Set Lunch)

Lunch eat what? This sometimes may become a headage to me. Since I working at PJ, it's look like I have a lot of choice. But at the same time a lot of thing need to consider. Parking, traffic, environment and blah blah. Good cheap food but need to soaking in sweat or Nice cold ambience but pricey food. So normally I will just end up with set lunch.

I come across Killiney Kopitiam at SSTwo Mall because I want to find some good internet provider restaurant to enjoy my "Draw Some" freely haha. With RM9.90+ I have the Fried Kuay Teow with 1 Iced Soda Mango Juice. The Juice itself already worth  RM5.50. 

SS2 - Fun Taipei Tea Cafe 趣台北 (Set Lunch)

Taiwanese Restaurant - Fun Taipei Tea Cafe is serve set lunch price range starts from RM7.90/set. I have the Marmite Chicken Rice+Ice Red Tea Set - comes with the crispy and flavourful marmite chicken, veggie, steam rice and  Iced Bubble Red Tea. The set have nothing to shout out. Just like eating a normal "Mixed Rice". The credit go to the Iced Bubble Red Tea. Really refreshing and have very strong tea taste.

Jaya One - KimchiHaru Contemporary Korean Cuisine (Set Lunch)

KimchiHaru Contemporary Korean Cuisine. This is not an ordinarily Korean BBQ or Bulgogi restaurant. KimchiHaru specializes in Korean cuisine and its main principle is not to use MSG. The foods serve here is strictly use natural, fresh base ingredient to make broth to season the food.

After trying the value set lunch at Korean House, SS2, I come to tested the set lunch offer here. Same price but personally I still prefer the one from Korean House. I ordered the Bibimipap Set (Mixed rice with vegetables). The description about this Bibimpap on the menu really attract me ; "Healthy and A Good Choice for Diet"!!

One Utama - Bar B. Q. Plaza

I believe in this raining season, a lot of people will hunger for something hot and soupy. So what is the best choice? Steamboat or BBQ or just combine it? Don't worry, just go to Bar B. Q. Plaza because here you can enjoy both the steamboat and grilling in a more comfortable place.

A famous restaurant from Thailand, Bar B. Q. Plaza first restaurant located at One Utama. Now they already have a lot of branches around the country. This is a Grill Yourself restaurant unlike those Korean Restaurant which they will help you to grill. A chrome steel pot are provided. The center part is for grilling while the side is for steamboat.

Firstly, start of the barbecue by placing pork lard on the top of the grill and the heat will help the lard to generate oil to grill your food.

Damansara Utama - Fat Spoon

I always saw people blog about this restaurant. This is a retro concept restaurant and serve nice Grandma recipe pork-free food. I am here to have my lunch in one holiday. The restaurant really have a creative decoration...a lot of old time stuff can see here. I adore how they mismatch the furniture but yet create a great interior setup. I unable to take photo of the interior as the restaurant is crowded and I didn't stay long.

I am here to try the Ikan Perut as I never eat before. Unfortunately it is out of stock and I go for the Ulam Fried Rice. It was flavourful with herbs and vegetables - nothing overwhelmed each ingredient. Comes with 1 piece of Kunyit Fried Chicken that was aromatic and tasteful and some crispy cracker.

SSTwo Mall - Fullhouse Lifestyle Store and Cafe (Set Lunch)

Fullhouse Lifestyle Store and Cafe do offer set lunch. Good food on reasonable price. The set lunch I have is Wok-Ser Chicken Chop + Ice lemon Tea + Mushroom Soup + 1 piece cake.

The whole meal is nice and value to eat. It cost RM18.90++. More set lunches available.

SSTwo Mall - Fullhouse Lifestyle Store and Cafe

When We talk about Fullhouse Lifestyle Store and Cafe, what do we prefer more? The concept and environment or the food? Personally I feel the environment overwhelming the foods as I will remember how nice and beautiful this restaurant than how delicious the food offer here.

Puchong - Bumbu Bali

Bumbu Bali serve delicious food from Bali. The whole concept of the restaurant is full with Bali feel..classy and cozy. The food do have good quality and have very strong taste. We order a few dish for sharing. We never notice the portion can be so big..end up we so full that night!

Mutiara Damansara - IKEA Food Court

A lot of people like IKEA Food court and its always full house. What so special? I also not so sure. So as usual when people said good and the place is so crowded Pohkemon must go and see and eat!! :-p

The Strand, Kota Damansara - Bulgogi BBQ House

In one afternoon I wandering around Kota Damansara to look for anything good to eat. After some research around this area, I stopped at Bulgogi BBQ for my lunch. Bulgogi literally means "fire meat" in Korean. It refers to cooked marinated grill meat.

La Gomera Spanish Buffet Restaurant, so far I not sure where else have this Spanish Buffet around Klang Valley, maybe this is the first one? Really not sure. Hidden at Neo Damansara, Muatiara Damansara, La Gomera do offer interesting dining experience. We are here to enjoy the Citibank's Benefit - Buy 1 Free 1 Promotion.

SS2 - Restoran Lim Mee Yoke

Restoran Lim Mee Yoke previously located inside the Chow Yang Restaurant. Now they already move to own shop, located at the same area but just in the shop lot behind it. Here you can find good and affordable hawker food.

The most popular here is their signature prawn noodles; The broth is flavourful and spicy. Filled with fresh prawn, egg, chicken meat, and veggie. If you want more spicy, add-on their sambal. They will also provide the shallot separately because not everyone like this. So just add in if you think you want.

Taman Paramount, Seapark - Restaurant Kong Sai

For Chicken Rice lover, this is a MUST TRY place.  The chicken is so smooth and less oily. It is great to go with their special chopped ginger, spring onion and coriander leaves tossed in sesame oil and soya sauce.

Haagen Dazs is a all time favourite ice-cream brands. This is the first time I visiting this premium ice-cream shop. We are here to celebrate Jason Birthday. Too bad I forget the price.

Kepong - Hing Kee Bah Kut Teh

Hing Kee Bak Kut Teh is recommended by a friend who said this place always full house. The BAK KUT TEH shop is located at Jalan Kepong, the shoplot in between Jusco and Mosque. This must really a good place for Bah Kut Teh because It is packed even though is heavy raining time. Its join by 2 shop lot and the interior is just simple and clean.
